"But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord." -Joshua 24:15

The purposes of the United Methodist Men (UMM) are to (1) declare the centrality of Christ in every man's life, (2) promote the spiritual growth of men through effective discipleship, and (3) model servant leadership of Christ in our daily lives.

All men in the church automatically belong to the UMM-- no membership requirements and no dues.   Our meetings include a business portion as well as a program, usually a guest speaker.

The UMM are involved in several service projects throughout the year-- Warmth for Wake, Yam Jam (sweet potato gleaning for the Society of St. Andrew), Wednesday Night Live fundraising dinners and Meals on Wheels.  We also help with home repairs and building projects (such as wheelchair ramps for MERCI and new cabins for Camp Rockfish).

The men have an annual weekend retreat each October; our recent retreats have been at Fort Caswell at Oak Island.  We worship God (sometimes by an outside speaker, sometimes by our own pastor), we have free time for golf or other activities, and enjoy eating some great seafood.

We invite all men to get involved.   It's a terrific way to get know the other men of the church in small group setting-- plus you can serve others while worshipping God!
